First 100 Words Flash Cards

Like most I want my son to get a jump on school.  As I was perusing my expansive teacher book collection I came upon the Reading Teachers Book of Lists.  In it are several lists of what they title "instant words".  These are the most common words used in English, also known as sight words.  I used the first 100 to make some printable flash cards.  There are two versions, one on "kid paper" and the other without any lines.  To get the font to save I had to load it on scribd as a pdf.  If you would like a word document, I can email it to you.  If you like the font I got it from fontco.com

I love maps!

I love maps.  I love to look at where I am going.  I also love to see what places were like before and why.  As an educator, finding good historical black-line maps for my students has always been a goal.  There are several great books out there, but also some pretty good websites.  two of my favorites are:

Edu Place <http://www.eduplace.com/ss/maps/> : These maps are clear and print clean.  I often use their historical maps with my students and I love that they include a filled in map on their site.

Online Map Bank: <http://www.phschool.com/curriculum_support/map_bank/>:  This site has pdfs of maps that are in a book that Pearson/Prentice Hall made.  Unfortunately the maps do not print out as clean and they do not come with keys.  But there is a much wider selection of maps.  I have used the book many times and have used the website so that I can create soft-copy versions of the maps.

Do you have an awesome site to find black-line maps or other map resources?  Please share!!!
